In person Learning

We also offer in person learning opportunities, including lessons, training, clinics, demonstrations, and theatrical performances to help share our knowledge and show people how classical training can take their horsemanship to a whole new place. Our students learn how to achieve a partnership with their horses, developed through trust and respect. Using the classical methods , which are still relevant today, our students learn what true horsemanship is all about.

Virtual Lessons

We offer liberty, in hand, and dressage lessons virtually through Zoom or Pivo Cast.

Theatrical Performances

Our theatrical performances give us the opportunity to share our passion with others and showcasing the beauty of these majestic creatures. Synergy, the combination of two or more things to create a combined effect greater than the sum of the individual parts, is the name that we have given to our equestrian theatre troupe. The idea is very simple: take passionate riders, energetic horses, and dynamic music and combine them together to create an experience that is as profound and engaging as it is graceful and inspiring.

Step into the world of classical dressage with us and experience the magic for yourself!

I have worked with Bethany both on her horses and on mine. She is clear and concise. Very classic methods and soft aids. Their horses are lovely. I would recommend Tuskey dressage to anyone looking for better communication with their horse.

Emma Frimml

I had the pleasure of working with Bethany for a few years. She is knowledgeable, patient and kind. She truly cares about the horses and riders she works with. She taught me a lot about Dressage, which was new to me. I have seen so much improvement in myself as a rider and my OTTB. His balance and transitions are night and day from what they once were.

About Tuskey Dressage

Tuskey Dressage, based out of Racine, WI, began as simply a way of celebrating our passion for the horse, one of God’s most magnificent creatures. It has since become our mission to help horses and their humans to have happier, healthier partnerships and inspire people to achieve things they never thought possible with their horses.

We take a holistic approach to our training, meaning that it encompasses more than just riding. Our program includes everything from proper health care and nutrition, to groundwork, work at liberty, and work under saddle. We teach all aspects of caring for and training a horse, from foal onward. Our training also prioritizes the mental health and well being of the horse. Our horse is treated as our partner and our relationship with the horses always takes priority over anything we may want to achieve with them. Through relationships built on mutual trust and understanding ,we are able to train our horses to the highest levels of dressage or at complete freedom in liberty work without any use of force. And because we are always up for a new challenge, we often explore other disciplines such as vaulting, trick riding, mounted archery, garrocha, and more, using our classical dressage foundation to introduce new skills to both horse and rider.

Meet Our Team

Bethany Tuskey

Bethany is Tuskey Dressage’s head trainer. Bethany’s love of horses began at an early age, and she has dedicated her life to learning the art of horsemanship from master horse trainers. She has studied classical dressage, liberty work, work in hand, and long reining. She has been influenced by trainers such as Jillian Kreinbring, Patrick King, Dominique Barbier, Frederic Pignon, Magali Delgado, and Laura Amandis. Bethany has taken what she has learned from other trainers as well the horses, and combined in with her spiritual beliefs to create a unique style of training based on love for the horse, the desire to help her horses to become better versions of themselves, and the desire to build partnerships with her horses based on mutual trust and understanding.

In addition to dressage work, Bethany is able to take her partnership with her horses to a whole new level by working with them at liberty, where there is nothing connecting her to the horse and the horse has the freedom to do as he wants. Working with horses at liberty creates a relationship with your horse that will transcend anything you have experienced before.

Bethany enjoys performing with her Andalusians at various shows and exhibitions. It is her goal to share her unique training style and show people how they too can take their relationship with their horse to a whole new level.

Kelly Ladd

Kelly has had a love of horses since she was a young child, but was able to make her childhood dream a reality when she began taking lessons with Tuskey Dressage. Since then, she was immersed in a world that goes beyond riding skills and training, but creating a true relationship of love and respect with horses. Kelly loves teaching children, and is so excited for the opportunity to continue to grow with Tuskey Dressage along with creating lasting bonds with the horses.

Zeke Tuskey

In September of 2017 we welcomed our son, Zeke, into the family. It’s been a joy watching him grow up on a horse farm and being able to share our passion with him even at such a young age. Preserving the Art of Classical Dressage means inspiring the next generation to carry on the traditions and we love working with young horsemen. Zeke loves cleaning stalls, feeding the horses, and riding his pony, Evie
